About

The Regina Foundation (TRF) is a non-profit group set up in memory of Madam Regina Awini, of blessed memory, a beloved lady who had so much passion for her job as a registered nurse and was also involved in charitable causes to improve the lives of young people, women and underpriviledged in society. TRF aims to engage in project work that empowers its beneficiaries, while raising funds through our activities to support charitable causes.

Our Chosen charity for the year 2025/26 is University Hospitals of Liverpool Charity (UHL) !!

UHL Charity is the official charity for Aintree, Broadgreen, and the Royal Liverpool Hospitals. Their Fundraising Team works tirelessly to raise vital funds that enhance patient care and experience across all three hospitals. They work tirelessly to:
  1. Improve the care environment and our patients’ experience
  2. Fund groundbreaking research and development, innovation or education projects
  3. Provide innovative, state of the art equipment or systems that enhance NHS care
  4. Support the health and wellbeing of our staff and volunteers to enable them care for those you care about most.

Funding ground breaking research, development and innovation in the area of pain manangement is a main objective. Just like Madam Regina Awini, who suffered from chronic pain from fibromylagia, which contributed to her early retirement in 2018 from the job she loved, and continued until her passing in 2024, about 35-51% of the adult population in the UK suffer from chronic pain which impacts their lives. Monies raised will go towards resesarch into innovative medicines as well as non-pharmacological therapies for pain management.
